I am Yvonne Frost, the founder of Art And Mind. My expertise encompasses hypnotherapy, art, and being an Advanced Drawing and Talking Practitioner. With 20 years of teaching experience in secondary schools across Suffolk and Essex, I have worked with SEND pupils and have been trained in Drawing and Talking Therapy, among other interventions, to support SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. In Colchester, as a Drawing and Talking Practitioner, I assist children, teens, and families in overcoming trauma and managing anxiety. In my role as a hypnotherapist, I aid women in achieving specific goals, such as managing menopause symptoms, recovering from trauma, adopting healthy eating habits, and implementing positive life changes. I cherish the way hypnotherapy empowers women to attain enhanced relaxation and wellbeing.
Moreover, I am dedicated to aiding individuals in managing their anxiety through art, creating a stress-free, non-judgmental environment that fosters relaxation. In art, there truly are no mistakes.

Drawing and Talking for:
No drawing skill is required as the marks on the paper are symbolic and are discussed using story telling and the language of imagination. This helps to reframe past experiences and trauma and to help overcome difficult emotions. It engages the subconscious where memories are stored and habits formed.
Drawing and Talking is suitable for anyone from the age of 5, who has suffered trauma or has underlying emotional difficulties.
Trauma takes many forms and puts the brain into survival mode, so that the individual is unable to relax or engage with the world around them in a fully productive way. For children this can result in becoming disengaged from education and can even lead to exclusion.
This therapy helps individuals recognise and process, emotions, triggers and behaviours. They are able to take back control of their behaviour and most importantly have higher self-esteem.
It is designed to complement, not replace, other specialist therapies.

Creating art is part of who I am but you don’t need to be ‘artistic’ to enjoy creating it.
Creating art allows people to process and release pent-up emotions and reduce emotional stress. Focusing on the creative process can divert attention from stress factors and even act as a kind of meditation.
Our seasonal workshops give you the opportunity to learn a new skill with friends or colleagues. Light refreshments and all materials are included.

The primary goal of hypnotherapy is to help you achieve specific outcomes or make desired changes in your life. These goals are typically discussed and agreed upon between you and the therapist before the hypnotherapy session.

A course of 12 sessions for Drawing and Talking.
Price includes Strengths and Difficulties assessment before and after.
Sessions for minimum of 3 per group .
A course of 6 sessions is recommended for Drawing and Talking group work.
Suitable for work, school, family and care home groups.
Examples
Half day could include 2 individual and 1 group sessions.
Full day could include 3 individual and 2 group sessions.
One to one = 30 minutes per week for 12 weeks.
Group sessions = 45 minutes per week for 6 weeks.
Price includes SDQ assessing level and type of need before and after.
One-to-one session prices based on client coming to Art and Mind. *Minimum charges apply for offsite work.
